A coleção de aracnídeos e miriápodes do MNRJ é a mais importante da América Latina, abrigando cerca de 2.000 espécimes-tipo. A coleção de Opiliones é a segunda mais importante do mundo, com cerca de 40.000 exemplares registrados.
